What is Casting?

Casting is a manufacturing process in which metals or alloys are melted into a liquid state and poured into molds to solidify. This process is widely used for the production of parts and products in various industrial applications.

Casting Process:

  • Material Preparation: The metal or alloy to be used is melted at a specific temperature.

  • Molding: The liquid metal is poured into pre-prepared molds.

  • Cooling and Solidification: The metal cools and solidifies in the mold, taking the desired shape.

  • Processing: The solidified parts are subjected to surface treatment or assembly processes, if necessary.

Types of Casting:

  • Sand Casting: Suitable for producing low-cost and complex parts.

  • Die Casting: Used for parts that require high precision.

  • Injection Molding: Preferred for light metals such as plastic and aluminum.

Advantages:

  • Easy production of complex shapes.

  • Large-scale production at low cost.

  • High durability and strength.

Casting is an indispensable manufacturing method across various industries, from automotive to construction, and continues to evolve..
